Recruiting is a funny game. Often times a school will say they did not offer because they know the player is not seriously interested in that program. That may be the case here. Perhaps the young man wanted to get further away from home. Personal decision there. Regardless of what offers the kid received or did Not receive, His highlights video is impressive. I know highlights are supposed to feature the strong points. He does demonstrate strong fundamentals running and passing on the video. Appears to make quick decisions which is key at that position.
I don’t know why y’all continue to address the obnoxious LA Tech fans. They’re best ignored if you ask me.
Don’t legitimize them.
My b-n-law has been coaching HS football in Louisiana for over 30 years. He is close with the OCHS staff and learned Tech, and Tulane, was in their office a few months back making an offer. That’s all I can tell you.
FYI - He has sent plenty of quality players to both Tech and Louisiana. Zero bias.
From the Stanford Daily:
John Elway ’83 (Stanford): One of the greatest players in the history of Stanford football, Elway ended his Cardinal quarterbacking career with 774 passes for 77 touchdowns and over 9,300 yards. In 1982, Elway’s 24 touchdown passes were the most of any college quarterback in the nation. The previous year, he had nine home runs and 41 RBI — not to mention a .361 batting average — as an outfielder on the baseball team. He was selected by the New York Yankees as the last pick in the second round of the draft, and Elway played on the Yankees’ minor league team before his infamous NFL career.
From ESPN:
With the last pick of the second round in the 1981 draft, the New York Yankees selected Stanford outfielder John Elway and gave him a $140,000 bonus -- more than No. 1 overall pick Mike Moore received that year. Six picks later, the San Diego Padres selected another college outfielder: future Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn.
No ranking from 247?
it seems to me that lots of the pitchers arms are shot early in their career due to the massive amounts of pitches they throw not in high school or college but on the league play and travel ball which stretches on forever
