Grey area is where this kid sits. This isn’t some stiff at QB. He is a very good athlete with good pocket presence, who now can find secondary receivers when plays break down. His accuracy in the short passing game was much better in the second half. Let’s see how he does next week. I expect Liberty to load the box and dare him to throw deep. With our WR’s I like our chances winning some one on one battles on the outside. I hope the staff convinces Levi to keep on the zone read 4-6 times a game.

I was wondering the same about the zone reads. There was a few times that I wish he would have kept but I think they may have been designed runs to the back where he didn’t have the option. Either way I would like to see more zone read to use his legs.

That dude extended plays with his legs and that is something we have not had in a while. If this team corrects the mental mistakes and turnovers they will go far and I think will win the west.
    There is plenty of doubt.

Agreed. We need to cater to Levi’s strengths, and that includes rollouts and the zone read. Right now, I’m not convinced that he has a strong enough arm to zip it down the seam. But the kid definitely has potential if we use him right.

Was at the game, am still not convinced Lewis is the answer. We did not throw deep of any significane other than the jump ball early where DPI should have been called. We have no deep threat passing game to open up the run game. We got to be able to use the middle of the field. A 5'10" ?? QB is not going to cut it.

I think he can manage the offense as Nunez did last season. He gives us something more than Nunez with his legs and ability to stretch plays. He offers nothing more in stretching the field vertically with his arm. That will be UL's challenge moving forward against good defenses.

How much of a difference would having a down field, bust the seam TE been? Hard to tell watching tv...thought our Hback 22 had a nice game

I don’t think any of us should expect Levi to be another coming of Roy Henry, Brian Mitchell or Jake Delhome, but I think he can be good enough to lead this team to a conference championship and bowl game!

He's simply not able to perform at a top notch SBC QB in any given season. He floats passes so the deep route has to be wide open. He'd better be able to use his legs because he's not picking up the receiver progression nearly fast enough.

I think Levi is a very good athlete playing the wrong position as QB.
