I understand but those are the exceptions rather than the rule. If I was a talent I wouldn’t leave it to a scout finding me at a small school and then all of the debate over whether I could perform the same against top talent.

I'd argue more talent is missed because kids sat the bench at a top P5 school when they would have had a shot of showing their talent at another school. Does it realy count if you were part of the Bama national championship team....as a practice player?

I've talk to a multiple recruiter at STM campus, not a one of them ever brought up his dad.

This kid is going to be a very good talent. I guarantee you if his name was Walker Smith or Jones, and had the exact resume and talent he has, they wouldn't have offered this early. That early offer is no doubt because of daddy's name.

While I know it is a recruting tool keep in mind that the NFl will find you no matter what. If they can find Jerry Rice playing for the Delta Devils anything is possible.

I know the kid is good. I personally know a kid that works with walker and Jake on a pretty regular basis and he tells me how good he is. I know walker will have many offers before it's all said and done. There are several freshman out there that project to be great players in the future why aren't we offering all them with 0 varsity starts? See my original statement and you'll get your answer. It’s all in the name recognition. I am not saying there is anything wrong with and the kid shouldn’t be offered. Just saying it is what it is.

Name a few freshman (in Acadiana) that project as high as Walker does. Just a couple would be sufficient.

I agree with you 100% on the kids talent and projection of where he might end up so if I have know clue that makes 2 of us. I am just saying there are several current freshman out there that project to be top P5 type talents. Why haven’t they offered more of them? Why just offer one? Offer them all before they “blow up”.
