We have beaten LSU in the postseason.

    Joe Torre 2.0 😂😂😂

Let me know when Robe has as many championships as Torre.

Where is Gary Gilmore in the comparison? Asking for a friend.

Okay, let me say this slowly so you'll understand.....

If you go back and read what I wrote, I did not say .600 was good enough. I used it to refute some of the language used here. Specifically: Bad Baseball and ____ting the Bed. If you want bad baseball and ____ting the bed, Georgia State some others are good examples.

I have no problem with those who say .600 isn't good enough because it didn't get us in a regional. I'm not into mediocre. And, neither is Robe. He has made the necessary changes. One of them is starting to show up with offensive production. The other is about to show up with this recruiting class (although I expect next year to be even better).

As someone pointed out, we all want the same thing. We have a different view on how to get there.

35-21-1 wasn't good enough to get us in a regional. If I remember correctly, most on this board felt if we got deep in the tournament, we'd get one. We didn't. But we were in the conversation until the tournament.

I'll tell you this: With the new league scheduling and the aggressive way we schedule, there will be years when 35-21-1 is good enough. 2021 is when the new league schedules go into effect.

What will the new league schedules entail?

You play like RPI teams so the upper teams in the west won't get hit with the RPI shredders like App or GAST and teams in the east won't get Little rock and ULM.

Rergradless we have heard how great these classes have been since Talbot got here (see current results)

You only play 3 teams from the other division, so the number of conference games will be reduced.

If we are still searching for post season come 2021 might be hard to fill those OCS with tough opponents

You'll play 24 conference games. Two bye weeks will be built into the schedule, allowing teams to schedule non conference games against good RPI schools, or in the case of lesser teams, teams you can beat.

Geography helps here because the Big 12, the American, the Southland and the Atlantic Sun all have bye weeks.

Each team will play everyone in its own division and the three opponents from the other division will be based on average RPI over the last three seasons. For the Cajuns, it means playing Coastal, South and Troy in 2021-22.

THe league has not released this because the format for the tournament is yet to be determined.

    In 2021 we play:
    FIU at home
    at Virginia Tech
    at Southern Miss
    Rice at home.

Our first bye week is the following week. We have TCU at home and then open conference at Coastal Carolina.

Our second bye week we go to Sam Houston.

This league lost a lot in baseball when the Florida schools left. At the time, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky were both good as well. We replaced them with UTA, Texas State, Georgia Southern and Georgia State, none of whom have made it to postseason since they joined the league. And that's why we haven't had more than two teams in regional play in any given year since then...and sometimes one. We went from being the 5th or 6th best conference to tenth or eleventh.

    Hence the change.

This is my only issue with recruiting. I have been to all the past diamond club socials, football recruiting bashes.. etc etc etc. Coach speak rules.

It's part of the game coaches play and some of those rankings are artificially manipulated.
