No. Gilmore's historical records are on a higher level. From a traditional 1 bid league (Big South), he went to 14 regionals, 3 super regionals, and won a freakin national title. And then he hasn't missed a beat with his program since moving to the Sun Belt. Two regular season championships and a tournament championship in the 2 years of Sun Belt play.
.660 WP at Coastal in his 23 years at Coastal (thru the 2018 season).
So here's my deal. And I may be one of those that TTMW calls a negaholic, but there is a reason I personally feel the need to respond to people who defend Tony. Amos comes back with a disbelief that Gilmore has a better resume than Tony. I agree that Tony is a very good coach that has accomplished a lot. What I don't agree with is the pedestal that people put him on. I think there are a lot of UL baseball fans that have this belief that Tony could be talked about in the topmost tier of college coaches all time and I just don't feel that's the case. It's not a shot at him. There are very few in that fraternity. Hell, it can be argued that Tony hasn't been given all of the resources needed to get there until recently and he still may not be getting them. But we have a coach in the sunbelt who also is not talked about in that fraternity, who, if you put the resumes side by side, would arguably have the upper hand between the two.
He was injured the only year he pitched.

And it was much easier to win conference games in the Big South than the Sun Belt which greatly helped his W/L record. He W/L percentage in the Sun Belt is down from his Big South percentage. Since he was playing in a much lesser conference, that would also play a big part in his ability to make regional's. Since Tony started with the Cajuns in 1995 the Cajuns have been to 11 regional's, 4 super regional's, and I think finished fourth in their only CWS appearance.
Gilmore started at Coastal in 1996 and has actually been to 15 regional's in that time. They won the east in his first year 2017, but didn't go to the NCAA tournament that year. They did make it in 2018.
He could only win the conference he was in and the margin of error being an absolute 1 bid league meant he still had to win his tournament to get in.
Since entering the sunbelt, Coastal has been the 1 seed overall in the tourney both years and is competing again this year for the top spot.
edit: I stand corrected on the 1 bid league part. It was for most years but not always.
The Big South was a two bid league 7 of the 21 season that Coastal was a member. Wouldn't you say it's harder to make a regional from a 1 bid league than a league that gets 2+ members in a regional?
The fact that Coastal made it to a regional in 14 of those 21 seasons is a testament to the consistency that Gilmore has established in that program and one I wish that we had in this program. No up years, followed by down years, then an up year, followed by a couple down years. Straight up, good baseball and then they progressively got better to the point that Coastal was hosting regionals and a super regional.
