Perhaps it's time for you to do the same. Stop being a ____! I don't care what he was allowed to do, two facts remain in spite of your constant banter that he has no leash. 1) He was voted team captain by his teammates, which tells me there are no major problems with him in the locker room. 2) Two, their decision to give him time to get his bat going was the right one all along in light of his current numbers.

And let's not pretend it's just about all the other players you mentioned. Your comments began with Lockridge not getting his chance and suggesting the best SS wasn't even on the field, but sitting on the bench. Not only has Lockridge not hit, his defense was putrid early which lead the staff to put Windham in the lineup.

Meanwhile, Hayden Cantrelle is on pace (after a terrible start to the year) to bat .330 with 13 HRs and 35 SBs.

Those are first team All American numbers. He got a longer leash because he’s the most talented kid on the roster. He would have been a fairly high draft pick had he not put his financial number out there prior to the draft. He wanted to play here unless he got a big signing bonus. You give your best player more leash. Every coach does it.

As for 2014, with the numbers he has right now, he would have been among the best hitters on the team. Caleb Adams was the top dog, and Jace hit .355 with 9 HRs. Hayden is at .333 with 7 HRs right now with half the season still to play. And that’s without Deggs being his hitting coach. BT hit 4 HRs all year. Cantrelle would have been in that lineup somewhere. Zero doubt about it.

Couple of questions. Who would you have put at third last year instead of Windham? Where would you have played Todd Lott last year? I'm assuming you'd leave him as the permanent DH like he's basically been this year. Personaly Todd Lott this year looks nothing like Todd Lott from last year. I don't think Todd Lott last year would have looked any better if he had played all year. Too many guys last year had incredibly bad strike zone recognition. That seems to be getting better this year with a couple of exceptions. As to O'Neal, I was pulling for him at the start of the year and he was hitting OK before slumping but our defense looked horrible. You can say Cantrelle was part of that and you'd be right, but it was interesting that when Windham entered suddenly Cantrelle quit making errors.

Maybe JT should do a better job at recruiting better baseball players so we don't have to have these revolving doors at a few positions. He's supposedly so good at it that Houston wanted him (not buying that), so that's why we had to keep him on staff.

Revolving door at third base? We've seen two players play that position. Should have just been one, but he is injured now.

(1) I never suggested this. Someone else on the board did, however.

Maybe if you could remember correctly, you would not take such offense to my posts, or posts of others who disagree with you. Things like this really effect your perception of reality.

Cantrelle was struggling with his batting average early this year, but had reached base in EVERY game and was stealing bases like crazy. Not to mention, again, he’s supremely talented. You play your best talent. Period. Which is why the way Lott was treated previously is so maddening.

Lott has one dimension, a hitter. He’s below average outfielder, and maybe slightly above average at stealing bases.
