It goes without saying that we all hope that Marquetti makes a full and speedy recovery, and that Gant gets back to 100% rapidly as well.

I’ll go as far as saying if we have Marquetti out, Gant not full speed and no suitable inside presence, Davis and company will need to smoke it from the outside every night.

We have never moved the needle. The complaint has never been about how many wins, and, hard as you try to make it about attendance, it's not about that, either. The four things it IS about are scheduling non-divizion 1 teams, avoiding scheduling 150 or better RPI teams at home OOC, having a losing record against top 200 RPI teams, and failing to be competitive every year in a conference full of low RPI teams.

Well, in the last five years, the Cajuns have finished in the top four in the league four times, with two championships (one tournament, one regular season). That debunks your statement about failing to be competitive in the league every year.

We'll know for sure in the next day or two. And, while I'm no doctor, my guess is he's out at least a month, maybe more.

That is a damn shame, I was just catching up on the thread and was getting ready to make a comment. Basketball is by far my favorite sport and I used to really enjoy come here to discuss actual basketball but that is almost impossible these days.
I was encouraged when he got up off the table yesterday after B.J. taped up his knee and was putting some weight on it but it was clear when he walked across the court after the game he was in serious pain.

If a Knight or Fertitta want to drop a few 100 mill into our bank account I would 100 % ok with them running a puppet administration ... You can ask our AD how you fix things in college athletics you throw money at it.

And the one year they didn’t was the closest thing to a rebuilding year there has been since Marlin had to tear it all down early in his tenure. That was partly due to the tragic loss of Herman Williams mid summer and the late decision to go the route of the 3 transfer that would all sit. If I remember correctly that team was 1 win away from being the 2 seed but the way things worked out they were the 6. That team actually exceeded my expectations.

Well they are 13-0 with wins over LSU, Oregon, Ok State, Utah St and BYU. Hell we would never play that many good teams in one season let alone beat any of them.

They fired a coach in football who won 8 games and would have won 10 had their stud QB not get injured.

So there is another example. Let’s throw that one out too.

Cougars also have wins over Alabama A&M, Northwestern, UT(Rio Grande Valley), Lamar, and Coppin State. Would any of those schools on the schedule excite the fan base?
