I have watched then USL since the 1950s, played in high school and college as a First Team All-Stater, coached at small schools where losing was commonplace and then onto outstanding teams where my teams went unbeaten for three years. My two daughters were outstanding athletes in multiple sports and were great winners but gracious in defeat, as I taught them. Sports is not "all about competing and winning" as you stated. It is about doing your very best at all times in BOTH victory and defeat. All of my teams were prepared to win, but most of all, were going to give their all for the whole game and let the scoreboard take care of itself. If that was always done, then they were winners whether they were ahead or behind. You say that "losing is not an option in life or sports" but that is not true. I have buried friends and relatives that could not overcome illness and disease, but to the bitter end fought the good fight like true Warriors of God. They may have lost their lives, but not without battling the insidious, unbeatable foe within themselves to their human limits. Your temper tantrum over losing a ball game is unfortunate, but these players did not go on that field expecting to play as poorly as it turned out. Not being able to be your best in every contest happens in sports and in life. I would expect you to realize this before members of your family and you traverse the roads of life. NOBODY wins ALL OF THE TIME, so you had better learn how to cope with adversity or be a sad sack with a bad attitude each and every time a decision goes against you on the court, in the gym or, more importantly, in the game of life.
........man, where have you been...I was worried you went to visit Hap......Tulane's body language and excitement seemed to be. More than ours even though it is. Sometimes a false show.....but again not our best show!!!....... Greenies need to thank LSU for this win and a turn around season he sparked..... QB was the difference and a deserving MVP!!

All kinds of computer problems the last few years, Boom, and couldn't log in to this site. Also busy with loads of family situations. Hap won't see me until he gets permission from you to welcome me aboard. You have seniority on me! Nice to be back and talk to good fans like you, though! Merry Christmas and a "Hap"-py New Year to you and all of my Vermilion Parish brothers! Geaux Cajuns!!

If you're up when that coach in that spot you'd love to have is also up, you wait. If you're down when it come open, you wait. Maybe sell real estate eventually.

Nape's done an outstanding job so far IMHO. His next mile-marker will come up next week on signing day. I don't see the man coaching here for more than a few years before moving on to bigger and better things.
I don't think you are allowed to sell real estate in Lafayette in a black shirt. We safe. This guy is moving up, it's just when.

Not reading the 555 posts. I’ve refrained from critiquing Napier all year, but I cannot not criticize him for using the Levi drive in the second half. That killed the momentum.

Sometime that happens, sometimes he throws a 50 yard touchdown pass on the first play. I suspect Napier is playing for both today, and tomorrow with that strategery.

Epic game thread. I love reading these things after the game is over. What a tool BLU is. As alway there were some great insights and some that missed wide right. My observation... we experienced Tulane’s recruiting dominance over us tonight. This will be the first year in a while where we will land a more talented class. You cannot beat good teams with the deficiencies we have. Honestly I think this is one of the least talented defenses we have ever had. What Coach Robert’s and staff did is nothing short of amazing.
Going into next year we will have an OL, WR and RB lineup that all G5 teams would envy. If we can find a QB and a couple of defensive pieces we can have a special season next year.

I couldn't agree more with this! I said virtually said the same sentiments earlier. Those second half adjustments by our staff, especially on the defensive side, were remarkable.

50% of Bowl teams end up losing. It's putting yourself in a position to be in and win those games that matter.

Mike, I remember the days when I was in New Orleans and we both promoted our program to Hap Glaudi with calls to WWL Radio. I remember when you told him that Brian Mitchell would be a better pro than Tommy Hodson. LSU fans went nuts for days after that call. Turned out you were right. You didn't say he would be a better QB which most Tiger fans missed. Hope your family situations have turned out well and we both look forward to an exciting 2019 season.

The App State QB just threw a normal pass over the middle to a receiver for 15 yards. Can we honestly not do that?
