There's no denying that possible UL membership in the Big 12 has been mentioned on quite a few occasions here on RP, but I don't believe anyone has mentioned it in the last three or four years. Perhaps a few fans were simply a little over exuberant when we strung four bowl wins in a row together, but nobody really believes that this is a real possibility anymore. Now dreams of AAC membership, or membership in some mythical GOT40 (Gang of Top 40 G5 programs) is a different story. Those dreams are certainly alive and kicking.

Neither one of those folks said we will be in the big 12 in 5 or 6 years... oh and by the way....we were discussed by the realignment committee of the AAC when it was originally formed and deemed not ready which of course at the time was accurate.
