One question remains if JT is staying on in a recruiting capacity. That is doesn't someone have to move to a non coaching capacity due to the NCAA limit on the no. of assistants you can have. Will be interesting to see how that is handled.

I'm pretty sure I called it months before this thread. Robe reclaims lives. Perhaps our stadium is modeled after this historic INN. Boomer was probably required to donate several week ends to it's mission. I know my three sons did.

As also covered in the thread, it's a foregone conclusion that the NCAA will approve a third paid assistant early next year. I would also assume someone will have to move to the administration side.

If you watched the coaching moves in baseball, several paid assistants across the country have moved to other schools in voluntary positions, which tells me the programs are pretty confident the extra paid position will happen.

When also asked about Gunner, he mentioned that it would be up to Gunner to decide if he wanted to throw an inning or two against San Jacinto Junior College and some other junior college.

Are we playing some exhibition games in the Fall?

Yes we are. Chipola was the other one mentioned. This is part of the new rule allowing fall games against actual opposition that doesnt count against your spring record

.....wow ——memories of back when with the st Vincent deal....we would go around our hood giving checks to the Parish widows....when the men’s meeting was over they would go to a local bar and drink a few pops and roll dice....this led to a cooking club of sorts.....bartender said that they were pretty holy men and they loved to roll the dice....ergo the birth of the “Holy Rollers”......some great meals and fun times in the 6th ward!
