Never thought of it from this perspective.

And for that matter, is there student seating for baseball and softball? It would kind of suck to force students to buy tickets to games they don't have access to.

Maybe a cafeteria plan, $value based per game, that is assessed on an individual basis..

    6 football tickets = $60
    15 basketball tickets = $75
    20 baseball tickets = $100
    30 softball tickets = $150

Or a single assessment for all sports of $300.

If you can get at least 5000 students to participate, at least you're talking $300,000.

Simple do exactly like all others where demand > supply.....its1st come , 1st serve.......when student quota is used, no soup for you. Valuable life lesson......snooze, you lose. Get your arse out of bed and arrive early. Need to get rid of any/all of the entitlements mentality. If you knew $500 a year was specifically part of your tuition costs to attend games where a fair number (5-15% of capacity depending on venue) but clearly a fixed limited number of student seats are available......your focus to show up timely gets much higher.

That would require permission from the state which isn't going to happen. The reason we have "fees" is because those can be done at the University level and do not add to the tuition reimbursement requirements under TOPS.

My son went to Texas, and got the Big Ticket every season. Here are the details, https://texassports.com/news/2018/5/...r-2018-19.aspx

Very simply, students purchase, if they want it, and it is first come/first serve for however many student GA seats are at the appropriate event. Doesn't seem difficult.

We can have student athletic fees if they are voted on and approved by the students. Which we should present to them as a needed fee in order for us to move into a better conference.

Yes, but nothing like that was proposed here.

I believe they already are. That’s why they are “free”. I even remembered paying a small amount for the band and cheerleaders as well.

Things change so I am not sure of the current funding source.

At one time the band/cheerleader fee was included with the IPF/ Bourgeois Hall student fee. Perhaps it still is.

Students would never vote for that right now you need a big run in football and maybe then you have a 30% chance of it passing

If Maggard is getting us in line with peer and larger institutions with policy changes and expecting fans to pay, wouldn’t he push for a student assessed fee just like all other universities across the country?
