Ragin Cajuns Equipment on Twitter - helmets for next season

I grew up in Terrebonne Parish and have relatives in LaFourche. I assure you, we have always considered ourselves Cajun.

That's what I was going to say. Never forget when I was a high school student and my dad and I attended a football game between Crowley and Larose-Cut Off. We sat next to some of the Larose fans and my dad was happy as a pig in slop speaking French with those people. IIRC, Larose kicked our butts that night, but my old man sure enjoyed the evening.

Check how good these helmets would look if we put them with our current uniforms. Looks a little strange but I did the best I could do.

Didn't care for the hat at first, but yeah, for one game a year. Sure, why not? Maybe when we host the championship game in Lafayette?

I agree on focusing on Louisiana! We are not switching the name of the University with a helmet design. I am also not saying making the switch to these helmets. We talking about one game a year. like a homecoming game.

Sorry, guess I misunderstood. One game a year honoring Acadiana with the helmet would be awesome.

I'm not a marketing guy but it seems logical that you have to have all three linked. We need to be moving towards the goal of when people see Ragin Cajuns, they know its the University of Louisiana and when they see the FDL and/or the Acadiana flag they know its the Ragin Cajuns of the University of Louisiana, and every other combination of the three.
When I buy gear, I try to get something that says "University of Louisiana Ragin Cajuns".

We need to be moving towards the goal of when people see Ragin Cajuns, they know its the University of Louisiana and when they see the FDL and/or the Acadiana flag they know its the Ragin Cajuns of the University of Louisiana, and every other combination of the three.

Man about town is right about the marketing aspect. It really takes all three. We are Louisiana, but we are located in Acadiana, so we need to promote the area around Lafayette as well as try to get people wanting to go to the games. Winning is the best way but a helmet like that would help. Third thing is that we have one of the more unique nicknames in the college football world we need to promote that as well and use it to our advantage.

If we are truly serious about wanting to be known as Louisiana there would be a general rule for all coaching staffs to wear only gear with Louisiana on it while on TV.

Create a tradition for one game we throw out the Acadiana helmets. I wouldn't do the entire uniforms just helmets. Here are some examples that I like.
