Elfrid made $3.3 million last year, was scheduled to make $4.5 million this year. He will sign a contract with another team for around the same amount he was going to make.

Elfrid is a serviceable NBA point guard, but he has not improved much since his rookie year. His outside shot is still below average and he currently does not look like a guy you can win with. He looks so athletic when he is on the court, but can’t seem to put it all together. Maybe he needs to get on a good team where he backs up one of the premier point guards and learns the finer points of the position. The Spurs could be a good landing spot with Parker just about done.

If Elfrid would accept being the first point guard off the bench, he could play in the league for 10 years. Being an unrestricted free agent will allow him to find the best fit for his skills. In other news involving past Cajun point guards, Jay Wright has been invited to be part of the Orlando Magic's Summer League team. He must have done well at the end of the G League season last spring to earn this invite.

Come on man. PPG, FG% and 3pt% all improved.
Now, he does have room to improve his offensive game but that isn't why he was drafted.
The Pels could only use him if they dont sign Rondo. They are basically the same player.

I believe he improved greatly once he got to Phoenix. He'll certainly land somewhere. More than serviceable. He operated under terrible coaching for much of his pro career thus far. Tried to turn him into a shooter instead of using his strengths to elevate the team. Orlando's so badly managed and coached, it's unbelievable.

Depends on if Rondo comes back

Even if he does come back they may need a backup PG. Dru Holliday performed so much better last season at the 2 and hopefully he can stay in that role

Rondo’s experience allows him to be a coach on the floor. Payton has nowhere near that basketball IQ as few players do. Payton is better defensively at this stage however.

And Gentry has let him use that knowledge and experience to create. I think his previous coaches tried to rein that in so that he played more within the system. As much as I would like to see EP play in NOLA, I would have to take Rondo over him.
