The one thing that upset me the most last weekend was the intentional BEAN. Unsportsmanlike things like this not what we need at this point. If you are mad that someone hit a homer, Go out and hit one yourself. Very disappointing.

embarrassment. If you're going to smack us, at least use spell check. I hate it when you're right, ______.

there was more to that than u saw. Words exchanged btw the two clubs and an ejection is what prompted the inside pitch that must have slipped. And if someone was swinging that hard off of me all weekend....someone would get a little inside fastball. It was done with class....didnt throw at his head, just put it where it would be remembered

Learn the game. The "BEAN" was warranted and it was taken care of. What's unsportsmanlike is the player showing up the pitcher and mouthing off to hicks. He also started come back toward the cajun players after crossing the plate. Apparently he watches to much tv.

Last year was our best chance, when the pitching and hitting all came together in the same year. We just got a bad draw having to go to A&M and not getting a home regional which we deserved. Everyone was talking about this being the "BIG YEAR", but I didn't know how that was to be. I mean we lost all kinds of fire power in the middle of the line up. Great college baseball teams are born when the pitching recuirts and hitters cycle at the same time. You have to have both the win big. If you have only one of the two, you can compete and "steal" a few but you will not win consistant. Just think if Lucroy would have stayed and hawkins and hatfield were not hurt. Whole different Story. BOTTOM LINE: THE PLAYERS ARE BETTER THAN THE PAST, JUST GOT TO PUT IT TOGETHER.
First off, this year's team is not more talented than the 2000 team. Say all you want. It's not. Secondly, these players can't consistently put the ball in play, bunt, play defense, and pitch. Those are the keys to WINNING. Small ball reeks havoc on defenses. Remember Clemson? You can put all the fire power in the world in your lineup and you will face that guy in the post season. The guy that will shut you down. Ask the Yankees why they aren't defending world champs. They have an all-star at every position. How do you win? You perfect the fundamentals of the game. Yes, our power has gone up since Szecf has gotten here, but is that worth the sacrifice in other areas? I don't think so. Why recruit a power hitter if his defense offsets his run production?

Talking trash is part of the game and hurts no one, An intentional attempt to injure someone is something else. You don't have to remind me of where it came from, or if I Know the game. All I know is that things like this can esculate into unfortunate results. If there is Trash Talking, let the REFS handle it. We need to show some Class.

Keep showing your lack of knowledge for the game. First off, umpires officiate baseball games, not refs. Do they score points in baseball too? A ball to the head is an attempt to injure, one to the ribs is not. It's a message. Baseball is the only sport that trash talking hasn't overtaken. You don't have Ray Lewis and Dennis Rodman in the MLB. That is because baseball polices itself. There are unwritten rules that players are expected to follow. How bout you call Tony up and let him know that you don't think he nor his program has class? Let me know what his response is.

Talking trash is NOT part of the game of baseball, and I think that's why most people gravitate towards the game.

One of the things I like about baseball is how it polices itself. The way to keep the game "classy" is to eliminate jawing of any sort after a big hit or something similar. You can't put that on the umps, because most of it can't be seen or isn't obvious enough to be corrected. A well placed fastball sends the message.

    Also, it makes things interesting!

I agree and see nothing wrong with what happened. I just wish we'd show a little more gonads at the plate.

I know that the bean is "part of baseball" and all... but only suggestion would be that you DESERVE to get shown up a bit (trotting round the bases or whatever) as long as you continue to play like you're still in high school! If your pitch couldn't keep him from hitting OUT OF THE BALLPARK, then your "bean" pitch should be put on hold for a while!
