CUSA is a better basketball league this year.
But the Sun Belt was ranked better than they were last year by a pretty wide margin.
I think when strength of conference is talked about, we tend to only look at the top of the league.
There are some pretty bad basketball schools in CUSA. Their bottom might be worse than ours.
I don't necessarily disagree with you, but there are some pretty bad teams in the bottom half of the West Coast Conference, and nobody is calling it a bad conference.
I don't think there is much argument to be made; the top of CUSA is better in most years than the top of the SBC. The bottom of the SBC is generally better than the bottom of CUSA. Neither is a very good conference.
If you took the top half of both conferences and made one league, it might well be a multi-bid league.
The WCC isn't becoming a one bid league as long as Gonzaga, BYU and St. Mary's are members, no matter how bad the bottom is.
But that’s because of accomplishments outside of the conference. I’m still waiting on that. But these guys are pretty special, and good.
