Who signed with ULM or tech or similar schools early? Guys who’s ceiling was those schools or lower. Ones with no chance of getting called by a P5. If we can get enough JCs to fill holes that Napier identifies, nab a few borderline g5/p5 kids who were holding out, and fill out the class with a few diamonds in the rough it will still be a better class than any Hud has had since his first.
Both Tulane and tech signed players with P5 offers so that definitely isn’t true...

That’ll be good enough to put us in the New Orleans Bowl again.

Tulane’s class is currently ranked #66, Tech’s #79, and ULM’s #115 by 247 Sports. This indicates that the players that signed with ULM are not of the same quality as those that signed with Tulane and Tech. This is very bothersome to me because we’re conference mates with those clowns in Monroe.
Stop please! What is lost besides the early signing period? In the past, the majority of official visits have been taken in January with the exception of a few mid-year graduates. This staff will sign 15-18 total and save a few spots for 5th yr transfers and JC's. My bet is both the 5th year transfers and JC's will be better than most of the starters they will replace.

As wasted year would have been leaving the entire former staff in place and allowing them to sign another class with Hudspeth's approval. That would have another wasted year.

Couldn't agree more. My idea is to sign THE MINIMUM amount of JUCO and 5th years to be successful next season. Other than Kansas St, I can't name another program that is successful relying on JUCO players. HS players are the life blood of a program.

I trust Napier and staff to do what is best for the program.

17 Highschoolers and 17 red shirts a year builds the perfectly balanced program.

Any scholarship discrepancies of 85 are filled with D1 and JC transfers.

I simply think that our football program has fallen to a level that's lower than most realize. We could easily struggle for a couple of years while we rebuild with high school signees,or we can strategically plug some holes with juco signees and turn things around in 2018.

I also believe that Tulane is vastly improving its program, and that Tech has things rolling pretty well for its program right now. This is why I feel such a huge sense of urgency for UL to turn things around immediately (as in 2018). I think we all should.

Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, we do compete with both Tulane and Tech for players. ULM, not so much maybe, but we can not afford to loose any more ground to Tulane and Tech than we have these last two years of the Dud's reign.

I think we've made an excellent choice in our new head coach. I'm just hoping everyone in the UL administration has communicated to him the need for IMMEDIATE improvement.

Merry Christmas to you Zee, and to all Cajun fans wherever you may be.
