We honestly got a gift on that last drive. UL-Monroe shot themselves in the foot with two penalties resulting in the first down. The first one with the roughing the kicker would have given them good field position and with the way they've moved the ball almost surely would have resulted in some sort of points. We got lucky there and if we end up pulling this out, that drive would have been the first big reason.

Davis problems may go back to last week's initial injury, but I don't think the problems go back that far.

I think they go back to him continuing to play hurt.

You are not hearing my point. I was agreeing with him. If you are going to let the clock run down without calling timeouts, there is no reason to now try to make a play when you are on your 20. That approach should have been taken before they punted. We could have called TO and gotten the ball back with nearly 2 minutes.

You are over thinking that. He wasn't injured further in that game. Plus, his accuracy was much better this game and he was planting on his front leg apparently OK. He struggled with simple throws that were on the money but he just shot them out of a cannon at our receivers. I don't necessarily put that on the injury. He didn't look ready to go mentally from the first snap based on his body language.

Then again the problem with Davis may go back to lack of playing time last year.

When you only have 5-halves of starter experience under your belt an ineffective injured routing can really mess with your head.
