What I don't understand is you can read UL-Monroe like a book. They are a dink and dunk team. Why protect over the top and allow them to continuously throw short and make plays after the catch? Why not send pressure and play tighter underneath? We've played the deep ball well and honestly they are not a good deep threat team so make them make plays going longer. To me its pretty easy.

Hud just said in the sideline interview that JD doesn't have the look in his eye. I'm sure that the injury is playing a part in that but maybe this is what the staff saw in him the last couple years that kept them from anointing him the guy. Nunez has not looked that bad although he really hasn't thrown much. I don't think ULM will allow us to keep running moving forward and we are going to have to take some shots in the passing game. Hope he's up to it.

Davis problems may go back to last week's initial injury, but I don't think the problems go back that far.

I think they go back to him continuing to play hurt.

I have no problem not running the two plays before half. The chances of hitting it big at that point that deep in your territory are less than something bad happening. What I have a problem with is not calling the timeout after you stopped them before the punt. You could have had nearly 2 minutes left to get a drive together.

HUD will sell his soul and destroy a player to save his desperate outlook.

Are you suggesting that he was injured further after staying in? I don't think this was the case. I don't think the injury had that much to do with his passing in this game either. He was on the money several times but he was just humming the ball even on short passes. He had absolutely no touch on the ball. I don't think the injury had an effect on the way he was throwing. I think it was more confidence.

In all fairness, JD's body language from the first snap was not good. He had no life to him and he was hanging his head even on the first drive.

Hudspeth has one half left to keep his job.

    Let's see what he's got.

I agree BECAUSE they had the pseudo momentum and the overt timidness before half is contrary to the message he will be trying to convey at halftime.

We honestly got a gift on that last drive. UL-Monroe shot themselves in the foot with two penalties resulting in the first down. The first one with the roughing the kicker would have given them good field position and with the way they've moved the ball almost surely would have resulted in some sort of points. We got lucky there and if we end up pulling this out, that drive would have been the first big reason.

We're not firing him unfortunately. He needs to be escorted out with a pink slip at half time, but he's here for a few more years, we can't afford to buy him out.
