Houston needs physical big forwards. Chris Paul doesn't fix this, but Long can fill a need.

Shawn is actually the only one of the fringe players the Rockets acquired that had a draft choice associated with the deal. Actually 2nd rounders are more likely to make teams in the future. That is to balance the books in order to account for the huge salaries the top line guys are getting. If he does stick, he will be in a situation where his family can watch him more often. As far as backing up Anderson goes, the Rockets do not feel his performance warrants the 19 million cap hit they will take next year from his salary and would trade him if they could. He struggles defensively and his shot was more inconsistent this past year than when he was a Pelican.
Cool. I was thinking getting tickets to see Philly vs golden state in the Las Vegas summer league basketball but Houston vs Cleveland on the same day would be better. Shawn would probably see more action since Houston invested a good bit on him and they'd wanna see how he'll fit. Playing with two all star guards will be great for Long.
Marlin talk about it yesterday on 103.7 Rockets wanted shawn last year but could not make a deal
A second year player could make minimum $1,014,000 in the 2017-18 season. Hope Shawn sticks in there with the Rockets.
