While we appreciate your enthusiasm, this unauthorized concept does not align with the University’s brand, its values or interests. Your continued promotion of this idea on social media and other platforms has the potential to harm our strong national reputation by creating brand confusion.
Further, the University has a responsibility to say that it is not affiliated with, does not endorse and does not control any efforts to fundraise in support of the concept.
You are not the first, nor will you be the last. A former friend and RP member that is now deceased received a similar letter 12 years or so back for making hats. I'm sure others have had similar things happen in relationship to UL.Quote:

If national brand confusion was an issue they would have abandoned Lafayette name references 24 years ago.
In the last quarter century there have been hundreds of Lafayette Leopards confusion points including Lafayette Leopards apparel at Albertsons on Johnston.
