Trip to ULM

One of my favorite memories was 2005 when we went on a 5 game win streak to tie for the conference title and lose the tie breaker. We were still in play during the last week of the season for the bowl game, but stAte had to lose to UNT to get us a bowl game (that was in Lafayette that year). In Monroe, I'd guess we had as many fans as they did and we proceeded to pulverize them. Afterward, we all went onto their field and celebrated with our team. That was one of my favorite college memories honestly.

I think Fenroy ran for about 650 yards in that game. (Maybe slightly less)

Also fun was the one a couple of years ago when we threw the bomb on the last play because they all out blitzed.

They need to resurrect the Broadway play, look like you are going to take a knee in victory formation and throw it to the open receiver for a TD. That's only if they blitz of course.

UL didn't lose the tie breaker. Well the fake one they did.

Wright Waters threw out the regular season tiebreaker rules because ULM wasn't eligible for postseason.

Normally you determine a regular season champ as if there is no bowl. Then you award the bowl to the champ.

He never should have jumped the shark like he did. But he did.

UL won the regular season three-way tiebreaker but it was skipped over for SBC PR purposes.

God, I forgot about how that whole situation worked out. It sucked so bad because that was the first close but no cigar season, then we had a bunch of 6-6 seasons again to keep just getting close but not making a bowl game. Things have changed so much with the addition of so many bowl games, it's why even in a year like this, I'm still happy to make a bowl game, any bowl game.
