I keep reading different numbers on the total reno. I saw 15 mill, then todays paper says 16 mill but i month or so ago i read 17 mill. I know it doesnt matter as long as it gets done but i would like to make an observation. From what i have been told whatever the total reno price is it does not include a new locker room which costs an additional 2-3 million. Our players locker room is extremely small and now they are having to install several large steel beams right in the middle of it to support the outside structure which will make it even smaller. Seems a little backwards to go to all this trouble and rip out several walls of the locker room to install the beams then rebuild it. I know this seems simplistic but if the university has more borrowing ability why not just borrow the extra and get it all done now? Cause if we dont do it now we all know it will be a few more years before this will get done and i am sure it will be more expensive then as opposed to now.
I saw no steel beans in the locker room Sunday.
thats because they havnt started on that part of the structure yet. The beams are not for the main grandstand its for the decking/walkway that will be behind the bleachers on the 1st and 3rd base sides.
I think it was covered further back in this thread. The supposition is that the current locker room will be enclosed within the new stadium structure and re-purposed (concessions, storage, maybe visitor locker room) once the new locker room/hitting facility is completed. My supposition would be near the current Cajun bullpen area is located. The last numbers I heard was $4M with a different private funding source than the regular stadium.
I went by today and took a couple of photos from a different perspective. Sorry about the sunlight on one as I didn't note it until I got back to the office.
