No turnovers and boy was tonight outstanding.....
Good thing we didn't turn it over.
Guys we simplified things for AJ....screen right for 2 yards. Screen left for 3 yards. Hand off right for -1. Hand off left for -2. As simple as it gets
When was the last time the cajuns threw s slant route, or a stop route? Those are the basics of football, and since our offense can't do it, maybe our defense can never learn to stop it. I mean 3rd and 4, let's play eight yards off and give up a 5 yard stop. On offense 3rd and 4, with defender 8 yards off, roll out away to short side to left for right throwing QB.
We didn't deserve to score a point tonight, actually fitting
Hell, even my 9 year old asked me, "Why are they running the same plays up the middle, they are not working. Is the coach that stupid?" Answer, "yes, he is!"
After watching that last night, I feel like the kid in the Ragu commercial...can't erase that vision.
Foote hit the nail on the head. Been saying that since the first pick six Jennings threw. Was a ball he should have launched in the stands but he panicked and had happy feet ever since. It's been there all along.
Well, zero turnovers and a worse result. A coach that was hoping and or thinking that he could out recruit other coaches and beat them that way. He has now found out that years of great non-qualifier recruits coupled with crappy coaching has brought out the truth. I too could not argue with the contract when he brought us wins and neither could anyone else. I did not think he was a great coach, but I accepted it as the way the game is played and everyone else also praised the contract when we locked him in. Now we will just have to ride it out, because he has ruined his career and stalled our long sought progress. Quit asking for him to be fired, unless you have the money to pay him off!
We have made it so easy to defend us that our players are playing against not only the other team but a smaller field. We have completely eliminated the middle of the field passing game and certainly the vertical game. It also seems that we do not throw to the wide side of the field unless its a bubble screen. All throws made downfield are sideline passes or back shoulder passes on the near side just letting our receivers go up for it. We absolutely do not work the middle of the field, at all, and that's with guys like Riles and Jacquet who can operate in those spaces well not to mention our lowly tight end.
