I listened to the entire interview and he didn't have solid answers for a large portion of the questions, specifically on hard financial numbers and construction timelines associated with the Tigue...he flat out said he didn't know to about three questions. He was more vocal about aspiring to get out the Sun Belt, but he did say what we all want to hear, that they are doing everything possible to get in front of AAC presidents and making their case. It was obvious that Farmer was on the defensive for the vast majority of the questions. It is also obvious that he/UL are feeling some pressure. That fact that he took this interview tells us that alone. Nice work, guys!
At this point, even if magically the AAC loses 3 teams, and somehow by some miracle they would choose us to join...I'd still want Scott Farmer fired. We need better leadership, from the bottom to the top. Especially in a new conference.
Don't worry guys. Jay Walker will rehab him on the BEV show later this weak. Jay should have been a defense lawyer. Better at picking holes in the prosecution case than finding the truth.
Damn it, just caught the last couple of questions this morning...guess I will have to wait till tomorrow when they post it.
Yep, this is why I stated the cost was $16 to $17 million while others were questioning it. He knew it back then, it wasn't a secret. I'm glad people had the chance to hear it directly from him. There shouldn't be any doubt at this point whom bares the brunt of the blame for this project. JMO
Scott Farmer's voice is kind of similar to an underwater fot.
-Everyone laughs when they hear it
-It always muddys the water
-A room is cleared when they smell it
Scott Underwater Fot Farmer just made a goon of himself on the radio
FROM: Man About Town:
"Thank God.
Media holding people accountable.
Something to get excited about going forward.
And again, thank you Scott for proving the "select few" on RP have been dead on since this debacle began.
Schultz is becoming the voice of the fans. GREAT questions.
How much bull____ did you guys hear in that interview? I've never seen an AD have literally NO answers."
Hawk and MAT--Are you as surprised as I am (after hearing Jay say that he'd have SF on BEV this week) that Farmer wouldn't wait until AFTER before talking to less "friendly" outlets?? While I think Jay WILL try to get certain questions answered, it's a good bet that he won't "go for the throat," so it AMAZES me that Farmer wouldn't want to take "batting practice" before going up against live pitchers!! WOW!! Is it possible that he's out there on orders from above??
I think he's been sent out by Savoie on a PR campaign. As for the radio question, I think it's better to go on BEV for "clarity of comments" after a bad interview..
But my real view on this is, maybe Farmer spoke to Chuck Wood prior to the interview and expected a much different tone from Dave after what happened with the suspension. It was obvious that Dave was prepared and Farmer was not. I'm basing my thoughts on how defensive and frustrated Farmer was for the majority of the interview and the things that have taken place over the last few weeks.
