How much $ does it take to buy a quality home game?

5000 puts a value on the ticket, it would increase season ticket sales. If we ever get really good and exciting you could possibly sell out with season ticket holders and have a secondary ticket market increasing the value of every ticket. Why build something for crowds we have had a few times? Build something that would be packed almost every night for a true home court advantage.

You don't, you pack the house every damn night. You remove seats and put bleachers in certain areas of you have to. Duke could afford to build a bigger arena and sell it out every night, but they don't.

they also hold 9300+, not 4-5000. i think an intimate (compact) basketball facility with 8,000 seats slammed on top of the court will be intimidating and loud even if we were to have 4000-5000 people in attendance. JMO.

We aren't duke...8,000 seat stadium...at least 2,000 empty seats nightly during the best of years. People were certainly going that year because we were winning but people forget the doors were basically open. If you brought a beard you got in free, kids under 12 free, if you could whistle you got in free. We really need something 1300 less than duke???

Irrelevant. If the CajunDome is hindering our scheduling of quality home games, we need another option.

5000 is too small. 7000-7500 will do fine. If you are winning (and no one can say we can't), you'll create a demand for tickets even at that capacity.

Once it's built, it's built. We'd really regret a 5,000 seat facility down the road.

As long as I'm one of the 5,000 which I would be...I wouldn't regret anything. I don't think anything is getting built so it's probably a pointless discussion. I'd rather go smaller and have scarce tickets than be half empty night in and night out on most years. Thursday night would have still had a 1000 empty seats in a 5,000 seat arena, but it sure would have been loud and looked almost packed.

I could live with this if the 2000-2500 extra seats were in an upper deck that could be closed off until it is needed. You do not sell any tickets for the upper level until 80-90% of the lower bowl is sold.
