I watched Arbuckle and he stared down every receiver... including every one of the ones he completed passes to. This nonsense about "staring down the receiver"... in college football... is a joke. Go back and watch the replay. Arbuckle stared down every player he hit... and so do most of the successful QBs in college football.
Haack did an excellent job "managing the game." That is not a slight at him. He did exactly what he needed to do. He was efficient even though our receivers didn't really help him out with many yards after the catch.
But, how about the turn around of the special teams? They have essentially won us 2 in a row. Who saw that coming? Also, hats off to the defense. The coverage was, um.....not great. That was to be expected though. They played well when they needed to and only gave up 21 points to a type of offense that usually carves us up.
Coaching, officiating and the offense we'll save for another day. Let's enjoy this.
Even if we only have the momentum of a turtle, next week we finally get above .500. My positive takeaway from this game, besides winning, is the Cajun defense held the other team to 21 points. Yeah it's only GA St but their offense is supposed to be their strength. Just keep finding a way to win.
Clearly Hud lacks confidence in Haack, receivers, line, or all three.
