While I'm new here, this site has been around a long while, no? Could not one do a search here and find such complaints in the distant past as:

We need to dump our exisiting football coach and hire a dynamic young coach who can win, a coach who can motivate not only his staff and the players, but the fans as well, a coach who can put us in the running for a bowl game most years.

or maybe

We need to invest in our football facilities! When was the last time we spent a dime improving the weight room, locker rooms, etc. for our players.

or maybe

We need to update and modernize our football stadium, expand it, put together a master plan and a fund raising mechanism to improve the press boxes, etc

or maybe

We don't pay our coaching staffs well enough, we need to raise their salaries, only then can we attract the kind of coaches this program needs and deserves.

or maybe

Look at our athletic budget, it's horrible. We need someone to push to increase that budget each and every year possible.

Seems to me your voices are being heard loud and clear and you're making a difference in more ways than you imagine.

If this is all they are doing...I'm sorry...but this is the bare minimum. Bare minimum won't get you out of the Sun Belt. Bare minimum won't get you raised perception on a national level. Bare minimum won't advance your program to where it can position itself favorably for the next stage in evolution for College Football. CC, as a point of clarification, is anyone from the RCAF on record saying that they were looking for a "pure fundraiser", or, as I understood what I read at the time, they were looking for a candidate with a strong fundraising background? For me, as I try to figure out how the process is playing out, it's an important distinction.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Mr. Moncla mention they wanted a pure fundraiser, that had experience doing inside an athletic department? I know that is was repeated on a local talk show this week multiple times.

Coastal. I think moving up a division is not putting down the conference you are in, they are trying to transition from FCS to FBS.

A&M and Nebraska, were those things they said after they found new homes in different conferences, or while they were still active in the BIG XII. youll have to provide examples.

To be honest...the Sun Belt doesn't fit our needs anymore.

Tom Osborne was incredibly outspoken on the direction of the Big 12 well before they moved to the Big Ten. So was A&M. It was all over the Longhorn Network and is well documented.

You asked for examples, I gave you examples.

Coastal is in a conference, right? They have no current invitation to any other conference, yet they are publicly discussing the fact that another conference would be a better fit for them.

Please.. the Nebraska and aTm gripes with the Big XII were all over the airwaves and print media for years before either left the Big XII.

coastal is transitioning divisions - apples to oranges
if the BIG XII is all over the airwaves it shouldnt be hard to link one single quote from either admin about how they say the big XII is not a good conference and they want out, or any complaint for that matter. if you find one, i'll tip my hat. until then, i'll wait.

Why does it matter if they're switching divisions? They still currently are there. Who cares if Roast Beef Tech is leaving the Grabass Conference and moving up to the ToiletCleaner Conference? They would still be in the ToiletCleaner conference at that time.

So from your example, Coastal deal must already be done.
Nebraska is a national brand. If they said anything about their current conference, it would be a blow to said conference, regardless if they were leaving. Same for aTm. Oklahoma has been barking as well. Several schools last year complained about the lack of leadership and lack of championship game costing them the playoffs... idk see why this matters.

And after listening to Steve, you honestly don't think he would say that as sitting Exec Director? I definitely do.

"We've been contacted and we've had some discussion and that's really the extent at this point," Hogue said in a story published by The Sun News. "That's where we are. We can acknowledge that they have contacted us, and certainly our stance has always been we would explore any opportunities that are presented to us."

so that is the AD shtiting on the conference they are in.
im sure someone with no official capacity (i.e. their version of hale) would say, we need to move up to FBS now to remain on the growth pattern that we currently have. like i said, you wont hear it from someone in the admin at CC

This one is from Aug of 2011, but there are references in it to a long-standing unhappiness with the Big XII, which clearly would not be there if there was no publicity of such unhappiness.
