While y'all were sleeping, Walsh was the player of the game in the regional championship, going 2 for 4 with a walkoff smash.
Just thought y'all might could use a reset button on this one.![]()

So will I, since I don't coach softball, but I will also enjoy sharing my opinion about what I observed.
This is why I don't post much anymore. I'm pretty comfortable sharing my opinion and having someone strongly disagree. It's the on-high "you're not the coach" crap that really makes this not fun anymore. I know I'm not the coach, man. I'm a guy on a message board (since 2002) trying to enjoy sports conversation about the team that I love.
I know that during our Sat game against Baylor, it looked to me like we were taking some terrible cuts at some bad pitches.
When ESPN interviewed Mike in-game, he said they're selling out to try to hit the outside pitch, because the ump obviously isn't going to call that a strike.
I guess it seemed to work Saturday. So what do I know? LOL
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think that Mike said that Stearns was hitting her spots on the outside and getting strike calls on the curves that she was running inside, so that was why they had to sell out on one side or the other. It doesn't make sense for him to say that we are going to sell out for outside pitches that are not being called strikes. I do agree that Sam seemed to choose the outside in the second game on Sunday, and it did get her a base hit and the homer. It also helped with her patience, which was the point of my original post.
