T-Bine, You forgot Ragin Pagin. Their seem to be waaaaay better coaches on here than we've ever had at our program

    For starters
    Baseball: Robichaux
    Basketball: Shipley
    Football: Hudspeth
    FB DB: Gary Bartell
    Special Teams: Bustle

    .. jmo ...
That's a good perspective for at UL, but if you also ask how they stack up in a national ranking against other peer coaches, HUD is a very distant 4th. (i.e., baseball Robichaux).

PB - Stokley was, as a head coach, way better than Hud, now Hud is a much better salesman of the program, but I hate to inform you guys that the talent we have now is just now getting close to the talent Stokley brought here. And when the fossil allowed Stokley to bring in and pay quality assistants, we had guys like Eumont, Doherty, Wilson, Cook, Roll, and the others - we are playing a much weaker schedule than we played under Stokley too!

I like Hud a lot, he has and continues to do great things, but given Hud's resources, he should be improving exponentially, or at least equal to his pay increases! The last 2 games last year, LaTech and Appy St. are games we should never lose - OM and BS were bad displays of football, but we weren't expecting wins, just hoping for them.

When Hud's career is over you may be right. But for now he is best hands down.

Where would Stokley's 62–80–1 record be without Mitchell and Delhomme?

We'll have to agree to disagree, I do think in the end Hud is a very good coach - not disputing that, but Stokley was a better "coach"

As far as Brian and Jake, those 2 guys He brought in - a big part of coaching is recruiting, and Hud is starting to get similar talent, but can he develop it? I hope so, and we shall see
