Kracka, I think you make good points, are an excellent participant in the threads, refrain from making derogatory comments, and exhibit many other behaviors that reflect highly on your character. However, I do not think you stand any chance of improving the referenced fanbase image, in the manner you imply. You are a unique breed of this referenced fanbase, and if they discover you are being repectful on this site... you are going to lose the secret squirrel privaledges.

Maybe you haven't been reading some of the various posts. If not, start surfing and you can get a bellyfull.

Yeah I know. I was just trying to be funny, since I think in a way J. Walker and Scott were indirectly poking fun at the UL fanbase with their "UL FOOTBALL PROGRAM". Not meaning it was just a ploy to get people off his back. He's done it with other schools, so he claims. I was just being funny cause it's like listening to the griping over on the "evil empire" message board. There is only so many things you can say one way or the other without it getting redundant. I thought the show the other day was pointless. They should have done that before the last game, maybe something fresh would have come from it. I am in no way trying to save the image of the LSUBRAM tigah fan either. That was me tugging at the perverbial leg of the UL guy. I know that's a thing that will never change. I just got to stir up ____, then be nice. Kinda like that Bi-Polar cousin that everyone whispers about at family gatherings. I got to keep people on their toes.

Perhaps Prather is of that ilk, but unless I don't know Jay very well that would be a stretch. Then again I didn't listen to the show, and don't know any of its content.

I, also, don't know about keeping people on their toes. You have, however, probably contributed to a spike in Boudreaux's Butt Paste sales.

There are TWO LSU shows now on KPEL's slots, and NO UL show other than the contracted shows by the University(coaches show's). I too aplaude JBird he is a good man and great at what he does, I just want the Flagship Station of the University of Louisiana to have Jay, Stevie-P, Mr. Bitter and Billy Rickman do a one hour show each week dedicated to UL Sports!!!!! Is that so much to ask for the Flagship station to do? I think not!

Jay, Kevin, Mr. Bitter, Stevie, Billy,
    I Love you Mannnnnnnnnnn,

Bitter has the "Talkin' Tigers" show on Sunday morning. The thing that makes it so distressing is that HE IS A UL GRADUATE. For that matter so is Bandit (on every Sunday morning with Big Dave). As much as I hate to do it, I have to give Bitter credit for having Tony Robcheaux on every Saturday morning duriing Baseball season. The exact hour may vary depending on if the Cajuns are home or away. Bandit reluctantly covers some UL sports but you can tell it hurts him to do so. Both Bandit and Bitter would much prefer, and are more comfortable, talking about the "evil empire" . A school neither of them attended.

Rykman has the "LSU and You" show on Thursdays but that's just to kill an hour. He does very little show prep and rapidly runs out of things to talk about. He has been doing better and has not used the "Andy Reed is fat" SOS as much lately.

I also have to give Stevie P. credit. That guy can talk about almost any sport without any interaction from callers. One time he did a remote and the phones did not work and the guy DID THREE HOURS WITHOUT A CALLER. He didn't miss a beat and filled the entire three hours and you had the feeling he could have done more.

One thing I learned about Jays show, never call in to talk about Radio Station bussiness , ie lack of power and other peoples radio shows also recruiting or any form of racing are a no no. He will cut you off in a heart beat.

The one constant on all the shows is Paul. You do not know what he will call in and talk about, it will be entertaining though.

While we may moan and complain about the content of local sports talk radio, I think we are lucky we have as much as we do in a small market like Lafayette. Local shows are on from 7:00 A.M. to noon, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. and sometime later. and then Saturday and Sunday morning. I don't think that any other market the size of Lafayette can make that claim.

There is no way Bandit is educated. Listening to those two losers for an hour will definitely set the ol' IQ back several points. If Bandit did go to UL, it just goes to show you what kinda person he is. He has something that he put his time and money towards that is ten or so miles away, and could support regularly. but, he would rahter support something else that is much farther and can rarely attend games, just because it is the sexy pick. If i never hear either of their voices again, I'll leave the planet a happy man. And don't even talk about when Dave is on with foot. I wonder if they share the bag of rocks that they put into their mouths before they go on the air. Whatever happened to annunciation?

I just want to make a comment for sake of clarification. Mr. Bitter has degrees from BOTH UL and LSU

Since the cable channel switch about three months ago "Cocks" started airing a channel out of BR that is 100% LSU promotion (20 maybe?). I watched it once when Coach Bustle was interviewed for an hour prior to the LSU game. I was channel surfing last night and passed through and caught a student run LSU sports show. I have one question...What's keeping UL from doing the same thing? I don't expect a channel dedicated to UL, but a couple of hours a day would nice. I think we may have talked about this before, but seeing that show last night put me on edge.

Congrats to Jay for setting the record straight during his show yesterday in the 4:00-5:00 hour.

Someone called in and said he was an LSU and UL fan, although he was an LSU graduate. He said Bustle was not the right head coach for the Cajuns. He said a "good" head coach would have noticed that Babb was not the right QB for the Cajuns and would have pulled him earlier in the year. He suggested that the main reason that Babb was starting was because he attended St. Thomas More and that EVERYONE knows that STM people have a lot of money, etc.

After hanging up on him, Jay was kind enough to answer his questions. He said that the main reason Babb struggled at times was because he was sacked nearly twice as many times as he was last year and also suggested that the WR's struggled running correct routes all year. As fans when we see an incomplete pass with the WR nowhere near the ball, we put it on the QB, but in fact the WR may have ran the wrong route. He also said that Desormeaux is a great athlete, but had to focus on so many different positions this year that he may not have been as effective at QB. Especially, since he can't throw as well as Babb. Jay said the coaches knew what they were doing by starting Babb.....I completely agree.

He also said that if people don't think that Bustle is the right man for the job that they are out of their minds. How soon we forget that a few years ago we were only getting 2-3 wins a year. The bottom line is that we have 12 wins in the last 2 years and everyone agrees that we underachieved this year. Bustle has turned our program around. I believe that we will continue to imrpove under Bustle.

I was as dissappointed as anyone after the way we finished the year. I want to thank Jay for putting things in perspective about the reality of this past year and the future of the Cajun program.

One thing that I didn't agree with Jay about is that he said that SAINTS have absolutely no chance to beat the Cowboys Sunday night. I hope he has his Black and Gold cup of Kool Aid nearby, because he will be drinking a tall glass of it this Sunday.
