That Alfred Peyton is player.
His banquet body language said he is going. Jmo
Sounds to me like some awful sure folks are hedging their bets now. I am pulling for the young man to make the best decision for him like everyone else is. But the way I see it is there are way too many super talented young players coming out this season who were part of tremendous runs for their perspective teams for him to risk not being a 1st rounder this season. With him coming back & the players it looks like Marlin will be getting to go along with Long & Elfrid playing together another season, I think if the young man plays another season, he not only vaults UL-L basketball into the lime light again & makes a great push into the tournament. He also guarantees himself a much greater chance of a 1st round selection & possibly even a lottery pick, which then makes him a guaranteed millionaire. I hope he stays for those very reasons.
Not to outthink the situation but if he were to improve his outside shot, I'm sure he would likely shoot more from the outside. As you do this, your percentage will be lower, obviously, than shooting layups much of the game which is why Payton is shooting 50% from the floor in the first place. In other words, by shooting more from the outside, you will miss more thus making is percentage either stay about the same or go down.
Personally, I believe it to be all moot as I don't think he will stay another season anyhow.
No word yet? This must be a tough decision for him since we haven't heard him emphatically come out and say if he was declaring or not. Either way he goes...wish him the best of luck.
I do wish, aside from the obvious, that Elfrid would stay in order to sharpen his mid-range jumper and get his three's into the 40-50% efficiency range.
Didn't I read somewhere that he had until April 15th to decide?
