It certainly could if a team were to sign several 3 star skill position players and we only signed a couple. Doesn't mean the class as a whole is better, just means it will rank higher on the recruiting site.

We are recruiting some big boys and that's where it all starts. Give me lineman all day long!

    Is this Hud's best class?

I couldn't care less about stars. I like to know what other schools offered.

I'm a whole lot more excited when we sign a guy who turned down AQ schools, CUSA schools, AAC schools, etc., than a player who's other options were Southern, NW State, and Nicholls.

IA, that recruiting is meaningless when it comes to non AQ schools. How many times have both ULL & Tech lost prospects to SEC & Big 12 schools only to watch get a star added on

In answer to techdawg88's ?, quite frequently. Also, some recruiting services rank JC's different than others. Some services value JC's greater than HS guys while others view it from the opposite viewpoint. Some do not consider transfers. When Broadway transferred to us, we received no credit for that in rankings and he will be in an NFL camp in 18 months. We have found one thing to agree on with a Tech fan. You cannot judge how well you did in recruiting from the rankings if you are not in one of the BCS leagues. I said that when we were ranked well below 100 and I say the same if we are ranked in the 70's which is the best you can expect if you are a mid major.

We aren't the only people noticing these trends.

Also, note the comments from the ECU recruiter regarding the effect of conference affiliation on recruiting. This should be required reading for our AD and his sycophants. According to the ECU coach, comfort can be detrimental to recruiting.
