Overall, though, I'll say this: we competed. We were well-conditioned. We were disciplined. The final score wasn't what we wanted, but it was clear that this is a well-coached team. 6 years ago this would've been a 52-13 blowout with 6 turnovers and 12 penalties. We played a clean game, we made it out healthy, and we'll be more in our element next week facing a softer defense and, generally, a team that we can scout and actually gameplan for. They'll be pretty motivated after the game they dropped Friday, but so will we. K-State will be a good litmus test for us, and I'm looking forward to it. I think it'll be a better physical match for us and we'll be able to see how well we can get up for a motivated opponent in a hostile environment coming off a loss ourselves. I think Hud and crew will have our boys ready to play.
