Thread: Opponents View: Bielema knows Hogs can't take Ragin' Cajuns lightly

Different situation, CajunSaint08, A&M is currently in the SEC, so hence our record in vs current SEC opponents has 1 victory. Tulane is long since out of the SEC, so those victories would not count.

I see where 31Ragin97 is going with this, and have actually seen a website that has our record vs the SEC with 1 lone victory, forgot the publication/website. Not saying I agree with the logic, but we do have a win vs teams that are currently in the SEC.

RaginDave, I understand the logic, and there might be a website out there that states we have one lone victory against a current SEC member, but in reality, we haven't yet. Beating a team that wasn't, but is now is the same as beating a team that isn't now but was. And saying we have (and I'm not saying you said it) is like French kissing your sister....just ain't right. So let's go get our first legit SEC victory this weekend.

    Peace,
    GEAUX CAJUNS!!!

Easily the worst loss I have been a part of as a fan of any team.

I watched the entire replay of the UF game last weekend, and after watching it (and I want to prefface this), the coaching staff let this one get away. I know coach was playing for overtime and was willing to put the ball in the hands of our incredible punter. But ultimately we allowed UF to get back into the game by playing very very complacent ball, offensevilly at the end of the game. If we had played like we did for 3-1/2 quarters on offense at the end, we would have won. And I never have questioned coach Hud and his staff before, but this one got away from us by not trying to move the ball. We played very conservative on offense and we put ourselves in a position to get beat.

    Just my opinion.

If you are in a boxing match with Mike Tyson and you have him on the ropes in a bewildered state, you don't try to win by decision because he is the champion and you are the challenger, you throw everything you have at him and go for it 100%! You really have nothing to lose in that situation.

RD you said it all. I was beside myself watching that game. I had about 10 people at home and we all had the same reaction. Turn them loose and move the ball like you did the whole game. Don't set back on 3 and out. I think Hud knows that he maybe let this win get away from him.........

That one hurt and would have hurt even more if I had seen the game in person. The one that hurt the most for me was the first game my freshman year (1986) against Oklahoma State. We were facing Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders (yep, they played together), OSU's current head coach Mike Gundy and a big WR named Hart Lee Dykes and weren't supposed to give them that much of a game. However, we hung in there and actually had them down 20-9 with 3:09 left in the game but wound up losing the game as they returned a kickoff for a TD, got a three and out and then scored on us with 8 seconds left. That has played over in my head every day since that day.
