Probably no one spread this rumour on purpose. Probably went something like this:
LSU fan : “Lanclos’ father has cancer and has taken a turn for the worse… Not looking good.”
Two or three people later: “Lanclos’ father has terminal cancer. Looks like he’s going to die.”
Two or three people later: “Lanclos’ father is going to die of cancer.”
Two or three people later: “I just now heard that Lanclos’ father is dying.”
Later:” I just now heard that Lanclos’ father is dead.
Later: “ I heard that Lanclos’ father died.” Respondant; “When did you hear that?” Response: “Today.”
Later: “I heard that Lanclos’ father died today.”

Melrock you aren't the only one who heard that info. Other LSU players parents were told that during the game.

From what I've been told he was an awesome guy. My condolences to the Fico and LSU families.
