We do need more local kids. Shame on the HS coaches in the area for not pushing their quality eligible players to come to UL. Why do you think the HS coaches have (generally) done such a terrible job of helping these kids see the merits of playing in front of friends and family?

For the top players, it has NOTHING to do with family and firends... Just saying.

You guys clamoring for local kids are ridiculous. This years class was not loaded with instate talent. If we eventually have a 10 win season because of this class will you still complain that Florida kids got us there? Some of you are a frickin joke.

Local is a great way to slowly raise attendance, but if the team is no good after the local player graduates the rise amounts to a four year blip.

Bottom line is you always take the best player available, all the while hoping that local high schools can produce that best player.

They never offered Kieron Williams. Kaleb Blanchard and X Zavier Preston were offer last spring, but they did not recruit them after summer camps, neither visited a home game or were asked to visit in January. UL has already offered around 100 juniors for the 2014 Class, but it doesn't mean UL will be recruiting most of those athletes in the fall. And for the exception of Chris Robinson (USM) Carlos Henderson (Tech) and Hakem Gray (Tech), are we suppose to get athletes over LSU, Nebraska, Arizona State, Florida State and TCU? Without Hud, we would still be fighting state schools for signees like ULM. Considering our conferene and state of facilities, its amazing what the staff has pulled off in the 2013 Class.

Carlos Henderson, a one time UL commit, just had 12 catches for 326 yards and 5 tds for LaTex versus UMass.
