Rice or Smu will do. As a coonass stranded for a while in the great state of Texas I'd love to put a Texas sized beat down on a Texan team from Texas, where everything is bigger and better....made by texans for texans.
Texans REALLY like Texas.
I want SMU. We'll call it "Death Penalty Showdown". Well... maybe not.
Anybody think our attendance for the NOLA will be significantly lower this year being that our home attendance has been disappointing this season? Last night's 20,333 (which actually looked accurate) was again a lot lighter than I hoped for but I guess this what we have to expect.
I think it will be higher. The way the game ended last year and with all the fun stories that we all had, I think more bandwagoners will be making the trip. People will travel to New Orleans because its a fun city and we will be playing indoors.
Here is my real life example of my opinion above. Magically right after the bowl was announced, my sister in law read the news on Facebook (Facebook is her main source of news). Now all of a sudden, she is expecting us to get her tickets, hotel rooms, etc, etc. Because of my loving relationship with her, she is on her own. But I am sure thousands of others will be making the trip just as she will.
Welcome to the bandwagon, now join the RCAF. That is all I have to say to those "fans".
.....end rant.
I'm already getting pumped....being it will be Christmas weekend.....it can't possibly live up to last years right?......Right? Haha
I already know several people who have not attended a home game but are going so I think we will do fine.
From the CUSA media guide ...
"Conference USA has guaranteed spots in six games
during the 2012 season and serves as a primary backup
for a possible seventh game. The AutoZone Liberty
Bowl has the top selection of C-USA teams and the
league will also send teams to the Beef O'Brady's Bowl
St. Petersburg, Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl,
R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl
and TicketCity Bowl this season. The conference also
has an agreement with the Military Bowl to participate
in that game should the ACC or Army be unable to
provide a team for that bowl."
So ... seven bowls ... five CUSA teams. The talk at SMU is that the Mustangs will be in Hawaii. It seems that Rice will be in either New Orleans or Forth Worth.
