The only way that a chant can be started is to get a printed release to alll the students. Pick a chant (or chants) and game to start this. Have someone on the side line with a cue card ready. If you pease meal this it will sound like hell. Have chant for intry of the team and special chant when game starts right before kick off and one during the game. The students can do this but don't expect their counter part on the other side to chime in. That will only come with a winning season each year. Most just sit on their hands to give cushing for their butts. But a robust student section will do the trick for now.
Have half the cheerleaders on one side of the student section, the other half on the other side. One group of cheerleaders holds up a sign that says "WE ARE", then the other group on the other side holds up a sign that says "UL!!!". For the fans on the press-box side to hear the students yell that cheer would be quite impressive, and they would certainly want join in!!
Maybe if they just concentrate on doing it on the student side for at least a game or two, then turn it into a student side / pressbox side activity. Or even do one season on the student side, then do the two sides the next season. Either way, it will take some time to establish. Then you have to be consistent each game, so people know what to expect. I've seen us do a variety of things and they sometimes work for a game or two then is slips and they drop it.
Go to any softball game and you learn our traditional chant is "Ragin" then "Cajuns". The students should start it off with "Ragin" then the alumni can shout "Cajuns" This would pump up the crowd!
THIS is the best entrance in college football....
Yes, I do.
Have not been to a game in a while but I remember they used to play that when they came out for warmups. I believe someone came on this site and asked for suggestions, and that one was mine. Really thought that was cool when they used it the first time. Always thought it would be better as an entrance song.
