just park anywhere.
Haha, definitely have to concur. I thought i was an elitist as well, until parking fees and being late to class started to catch up with me.
An the bus actually wasn't as bad as I thought'd it be. I thought it'd be this overcrowded furnace, but it wasn't too shabby. Took me about 10 minutes to get from Cajun Field to the bus station.
The professor doesn't let you in after 5 minutes. It was 9:05 by time I got to Griffin, class is on the 5th floor.
I was trying to get out of the line but it was impossible because cars just park on the road waiting to get into the lot; I was checking that lot first then heading to the tower.
So, I've been in school for 5 years, and I've never ridden the bus. Now, I've gotten 4 or 5 tickets, but over a 5 year span, that's normal. I only park in the tower if I'm running late. I always parallel park in the Saints Streets or in the President streets on either side of campus and walk. The problem I have, is that half the people that park there CAN'T PARALLEL PARK!!!!
I hate it when I see like 10 potential spots that are inaccessible because some idiot can't pull all the way up to a driveway or parking sign. OR, when they leave 6 or 7 feet between them and the car in front of them. ARG!!! I think I might start leaving notes with parking tips on it. It's aggravating. (Though I won't have to deal with it after the fall semester!)
The parking tower definitely helped out a lot. Parking before the tower WAS HORRIBLE!
I think Tim Landry had it right in an edition of The Vermilion a few years back, "UL's campus was designed on the thought that the automobile would never catch on."
I leave parking tips all the time! People can't park in general, even when they give you painted lines to help! The best tip I left? This truck was parked all jacked up and had a 'God is my co-pilot' bumpersticker. I left a note that read: "there's no way God is your co-pilot, otherwise, he would have showed you how to f'in park!!!
