He has always had a great personallity and the kids seem to like him? Is it possible he will be retained? I hope so he is a great guy and a good coach!

Parrot reported earlier in the week that he would not be retained.

I have no idea if this is true or not, but an unreliable source told me he may have applied for the open Head Coaching position at Lafayette High. Can anyone confirm?

Doesn't have a teaching certificate, he won't be coaching at Lafayette High.

How long does it take to gwet a teaching certificate? That would be a nice move for Lafayette high. Is it possible he would end up back at McNeese, or at a Louisiana based Southland Conference school?

I think its pretty much Jay Domengeaux's job at this point.

I know Gerald Broussard and he is a nice guy. However this is Coach Hud's team and he needs his people. When you become a football coach you know you will be fired and hired many times over. I would not expect any holdovers from the old staff....

I agree Gerald Broussard is a great coach and should have been retained. But as always we (UL) always allow the good ones to get away or we never bring them back. For example Clay Jennings at TCU, did we every consider him for the Head Coaching job or bring him back as a coordinator, Mike Gibson is another he has a large amount of experience and was very solid when he was here. Of course we all know Brian Jenkins who is the Head coach at Bethune Cookman and has won the conf. championship as well as the HBCU National Championship in his first year. Gary Bartel, one of the best recruiters we every had. Hurley brown is another. He did an outstanding job when he was here. There are several others as well. Did we even consider these coaches for the job or reccomend them to the new coach.

Really?? First of all, most of the examples you give are not moves that this administration made, so to act like it is a trend with this administration is simply inaccurate. Secondly, I think it is funny how all of us fans scream we need a new regime for Cajun football, that we need to make changes, that we have to go in a different direction...but the new coach that is hired is expected to keep all of the same staff that had all of the issues. I'm sure everyone of the coaches you named, and many that you did not, are great great people. But I am a coach, and you just know that this happens. When a new guy comes in, and you entrust him with your program, you have to give him the ability to bring in his own people. And sometimes, actually a lot of times, that means letting good people go.
