Acadiana High Athletes

_ You have a valid point here but the two examples are not good. The Acadiana High player was not elgible. Auburn did recruit him but he was not elgible there either - he went to a JC.

The Erath QB was a good player, but he was not better than our QB Michael Desormeax. Sometimes there are limits to the number of players available at a position. UL wanted him as an athlete and he wanted a fair shake at QB. That's all.

Our new head coach has already begun visiting local high schools and hopefully we will receive good news from this. _

But Fourroux was better Hundley who didn't fit our offense at all and transferred as soon as Fourroux was done mopping the floor with us. Sure there are limits to the number of players available at a position. That is why you recruit the kids that have potential in your system and not someone you have to change your whole offense for.

Yep, and my whole point is so did everyone else in the state of Louisiana. He is not a good example, since he didn't graduate on time and you are not hammering LSU for not offering him when another SEC program did. How about Micah Eugene, he went to two LSU camps and never got a sniff. Burns from Alabama has been talking to him since his trip up to their camp this summer. Coach Hud offered on the spot and Coach Cooper from LSU shows up yesterday afternoon. You see, recruiting is not an exact science and I get tired of people talking about kids we should have offered that are only getting offers from SLC or SWAC programs and couldn't graduate high school on time.

There are some legitimate examples of athletes we should have offered, Figaro is one that come to mind.

Fourroux was good, but he did play against that same level of competition as Desormeaux. The majority of his numbers were put up against FCS programs. I'm not saying he couldn't have played in the SBC, but I would like to see him play against a better schedule before I nominate him player of the century.

Hundley was here and transfered out, Forroux was offered a scholarship at DB.

Desormeaux was not a better QB than the Erath QB. Mike was a better athlete which is why he the Jaquars gave him a shot at DB and not QB.
Desormeaux threw 23 tds and 26 ints in his college career with about a 55% completion rate. He can't throw a ball 40 yards and hit a receiver. He had trouble throwing short passes which were most of his attempts anyway. He ran for 16 tds as well.
Desormeaux had 11 wins and 18 loses.
Bustle changed the whole offense to revolve around him and see where it got the team. He would of better off sticking to receiver with Fourroux at QB for the Cajuns.

Fourroux threw for over 5,500 yards and 42 TD's. As a starter he had 34 wins only 13 loses.
You don't tell a kid he can only come here to play DB and not have a shot at QB. Especially when that QB went to Cajun field and proved it in person.

Thanks to the recruiting misfits of the Cajuns, he didn't have that opportunity to play in the Sunbelt. With that logis, I guess do don't respect Kerry Joseph who played for McNeese as well because he didn't play D-1A football. I just thought of something, Cajuns didn't even Mr. Joseph as well. Kerry was the only player in LA history probably to play 3 different positions in the NFL and played both sides of the ball and sign the biggest contract ever at the time in Canadian football history. This my friends is one of many reasons why the football team has struggled for 1/2 a century.

I saw both athletes play head to head twice in high school and Des was by far the better QB as well as athlete. Fourroux developed into a better passer, while Des was not called on to pass very much.

You know I have been giving you the benefit of the doubt for the last week or so, but sir your constant criticism of UL is growing tiresome. We all know what UL's shortcomings WERE. We also know that this is a new era in Cajun athletics and the University as a whole. There is a major change taking place on this campus, and all you can do is point out that we should know our place and not try to improve. You have all but posted those exact words in a roundabout way.

I am here to tell you and every other lurker/troll right now, within the next 5 years UL will be THE BEST mid major in the Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama region. We will have the nicest facilities in nearly every sport. If you want to get on the bandwagon now we will welcome you, but for all the haters out there ____ off!

Brian Mitchell played RB, QB and WR/KR in the NFL and has the 2nd most all purpose yards in NFL history. Again read above post.
