    Default Pettis Now Considering Cajuns

Oxford High’s prolific passing game produced a trio of talented skilled athletes during the 2010 season. Larry Pettis is now one of the top TE prospects Mississippi and has set a visit to Louisiana’s Ragin’Cajuns.

So much for taking a step back in recruiting. I don't know if these were the top guys on the Miss St board but then that is just what we said we wanted and realistically expected of the new coach, get the top mid-major prospects. And his interest in a good receiving TE leads me to believe he will really use LeDarius Green next year. In that offense it may be hard to keep Green off the Mackey finalists list.

Coach Hud spent too much time in the SEC.. He's trying to turn us into a powerhouse over night :-)

This guy could turn into a rock star in Lafayette.

T...this is the 3rd or 4th guy to now add UL to their lists. Does this not already appear to be an upgrade in recruiting? I know they aren't ours yet, but the first step is to get better athletes to at least take a look at us.

Yep and more to come. I expect because of the timetable, 90% of the first recruiting class will come from Mississippi HS and JC.

I don't know a lot about recruiting and what factors into the tough decisions that prospects make. As a parent, I would be giddy about the home games and some of the away games being within driving distance. Families in MS could make the trip for home games and away games at ULM, Troy, A State, USA, and maybe MT.

The largest factor this season is they want kids that they've evaluated. If you are going to make commitments to win from day one, you better get the prospects that you have evaluated and not depend upon others opinions.
