Here are their current salaries to include possible bonus money.

Some candidates I would be happy with are:
    Les Koenning Miss St. $260K
    Mark Hudspeth Miss St. $190K
    Dana Holgorson OK St. $360K
    Gunter Brewer OK St. $275K
    Kirby Smart Alabama $369K
    Steve Kraigthorpe Tulsa/Louisville
    Gary Crowton LSU $470K
    Dennis Franchione TAMU.
    Garrik McGee Arkansas $193K

We are set up to guarantee a coach an attractive salary. We also have the ability to add much larger dollars based on performance results. Some fans are underestimating the full contract term possibilities.

I would like to see an SEC related hire. Someone who can recruit the southern talent

Garrick McGee also has NFL coaching experience, Could probaby give UL a high Power offense, but we would be lacking in defense as usual. So we would have to hire an impressive Def. Coordinator to counter this.

    Same for Gunter Brewer

Mark Hedsputh has experience Coaching both Defense, Offense and Head Coaching experience as well at North Alabama, This could be a very strong candidate for the job and has alot of upside in my opinion.

Were you the one who suggested Baldwin from LSU? "An SEC related hire"... come on ULforLife... you can do better than "an SEC related hire".

Gary crowton? LSUs offense is awful and inconsistent. I'll pass.

Gary Crowton has not been in charge of the LSU offense for the past 2 years.

cajun4life your comment about Crowton not being able to run his offense the past 2 years is very accurate. From someone who is very involved in the LSU program, he said the same thing. His QB situation also stinks! Crowton has been a very successful OC at LSU when he first got there and other places including Oregon, Chicago Bears, BYU, and La Tech.

I'm sure the pay and the desire to have the job will determine who the next coach is. However, I think the next coach will make considerably more than Bustle. If you're concerned, that's what the RCAF is for.

We've gone the BCS/offensive coordinator route three times (Augie Tammariello, 6 years; Nelson Stokley, 13 years; Rickey Bustle, 9 years) with some success but not to the degree we anticipated.

Personally, I'd like to try something else next time. How about a 1-AA head coach that turned a program around on a shoestring budget, or perhaps someone whose specialty is defense?
