Is it not alarming to people on here how this keeps happening with the coaches?? This isnt the first time a player has quit. It was mentioned earlier in this post that the community knows how M. Lotief treats his players. I've heard him scream and throw his temper tantrums like a ____y 2 year old. I've heard disgruntled parents say all sorts of things pertaining to him. How is it that so many people on here turn a blind eye to him and act as though he does nothing wrong?? Wake up people!! Maybe the school should interview players of past and present about his actions.......

Give me a break!! Next you will say that a we must a fire every coach that raises his voice towards his team. This is not pee-wee level sports. Every single person that is a member of an athletic team in college is an adult. I'm sure they can handle being yelled at, if not then maybe they should give up sports all together.

Theres a difference between being yelled at and being emotionally abused and degraded. Go take yourself elsewhere....i seriously doubt you ever played competitive sports.

Your are 100% correct. There is a difference between degrading someone and being tough on them. Everyone has their breaking point. Who better than the ones that are in authority over you to know when that is. Giving up playing is not the same thing a not wanting to play. But just luke donna, its not wanting to play here. The abuse becomes overwhelming. While others just stand idly by. Makes them just a guilty.

I remember the first fball game this year at Georgia when their DC went ape _____ on his players for letting us score. Everyone was praising him and wishing our coaches would show that kind of fire.

It's a good thing most of todays atheletes were not around in the 50's, 60's or early 70's, when getting verbally yelled at by most coaches was the rule instead of the exception! In high school, I can remember loosing games that the coaches thought that we should have won, going back to school after the game, getting off the bus and running wind sprints until some players puked. Then being told to be ready for a tough week of practice so that kind of crappy prerformance wouldn't take place again the next Friday night. I don't remember but 1 or 2 players ever quiting because of the circumstances being to tough or abusive. As a matter of fact, most of us hold those coaches in high regard and consider them very influential in our development. The vast majority of the folks I know who played sports during that era have amaizingly gone on to be fairly successful as adults and the "abuse" doesn't seem to have harmed them or their ego. Could it be because they were taught to handle adversity and tough situations early in life and learned life long lessons through the tough love? Kids of today only think that they have it tough. I have been told stories of USL football practices under Russ Faulkenberry that probably many of today's atheletes couldn't deal with. I realize that we live in another day and time and things change. Unfortunatly, because of some of these changes in our attitudes we find our country in the condition it is today.

Enough of my rant, I have to live and work in the real world of today. Therefore, let's make sure that every kid on the team ends up with a trophy at the end of the season for simply doing the best he/she can do. The effort is all that counts, because we all know that there are no winners and loosers if everyone simply does their best!!!!!

I'm in no way implying that this is the situation with Donna, but your comments just got me wondering exactly what you mean by being "emotionally abused". Best of luck to Donna B. wherever she goes.
