That is impressive, but the only thing that isnt impressive is his lack of experience in the Div. I (FBS) League. North Alabama isnt even an FCS school but actually Div. II school so it is hard to judge his true abilities.

He's got the proven experience, the name, and top notch speaking ability.

I guess to test the waters again? he did take a good 10-11 year break from coaching to do some national broadcasting. Maybe he just didnt wanna jump straight back into the big leagues.

Terry or Tommy? Because I'm willing to bet Terry won't get a sniff from our administration. Ask youself this, has Bowen been waiting for the right job to come available at UL in the SBC, or could it be most NCAA FBS programs will never give him another chance after what happened at Auburn?

_ Mark Hudspeth - passing game coordinator Miss St. - not something I would want on my resume based on this year's results. 66-21 record as a head coach at North Alabama, National Championship at Delta St. as an OC, 25-1 as a HC at the High School level. Miss St. is/was a Top 25 team.

Dana Holgorson - offensive coordinator OK St. - only if Gunter Brewer comes as OC(the Man behind the OSU Offensive Curtain)He is the man be hind the offense, he did it at Houston and now at Ok St. I don't know where you get that Brewer is the man.

Ed Orgeron - USC- best drive by shooting potential, will instantly turn the LSU faithful into a skillet full of frenzied flopping fish, the players would love him, and we would have a dominant D. Could get great talent, but questionable as a coach.

Jim Leavitt - former USF HC - no comment

Jeff Bower - Former USM HC - solid, but may lack the fire that will be needed to fight the fights that need fighting to turn this thing around

Terry Bowden - HC North Alabama - I imagine that he has learned much from his past, he is probably one of our best choices if we can afford him, but he will move on to bigger and better things at the first hint of success

1. one of the Bowden sons.- know how to run an offense that higher skill athletes will gravitate to and our recruiting will improve exponentially.

2. Brian Jenkins- HC at Bethune-Cookman. undefeated currently and runs a quick paced offense similar to that of Oregon. Not a local guy, which i think is a plus personally, but knows how to recruit this area and areas that have skill players.

3. Dana Holgorsen- master mind of the air raid offense at Texas Tech, Houston, and now OK St.

4. Kirby Smart- Defensive Coordinator at Alabama. Been in the Saban defensive system for 5 years and knows how to run a tight defense. I know the defense is Saban's baby but you have to know something about how to run a defense if you're working for Saban.

5. Carl Pelini- Defensive Coordinator at Nebraska. for similar reasons as Kirby Smart.

I would definitely like to see a defensive minded coach here for a change. We will never win unless/until we focus on defense which we have not ever appeared to do. All of our coaches seemed to have offensive backgrounds, if I'm not mistaken.

I know we have the RCAF, but we don't have that kind of money.

On January 8, 2010, Leavitt was fired after an investigation by USF officials found that he had struck a player in the locker room during halftime of a game against Louisville the previous November 21. Leavitt claimed he was merely trying to console the player and never struck him. School officials found that Leavitt was not truthful about what happened, and also found that he had interfered with the investigation.

I do like Leavitt's history as a defensive coordinator and the success he had from growing a 1AA program all the way to a BCS conference in ten years at South Florida, but I wonder if UL would take a chance on a coach with that kind of history?

Though his intensity is something UL could probably use right now.
