Be nice, if he was your brother or a close friend would you not want him to get another chance? I don't know this guy personally, but as a person I would want to be there to help support him as he gets his life back together. I would like doing that even more if he was the coach of the team at the school I love!

I have no idea if this is even true. The person who told me he was seen in town always claims to know about things. I usually do not take him seriously, but this got my curiosity up because I think he is a brilliant coach.

I was only kidding, I'm all for the guy getting another chance. We all make mistakes...

He can recruit like nobody else and he's well respected. I don't know if I'd go 300k with him as his lack of experience holds him back and I think we'd all like to see one of the previously mentioned candidates but Butch is not a bad option if things aren't looking good. _
Hey----like Vince Lombardi when he finally got a head job and went with the GB Packers---BP missed a chance when he went to Miss. State to play basketball!!!! Kidding

To date myself, I remember BP's recruitment out of St. Amant(?).

I didn't have ST.A as a school but they came to our UL yearbook workshop---the YB advisor was close with BP and I begged her to steer him to God's country but --NO--When he coached here his beautiful bride worked for Wally Romero State Farm---Small world sometimes!!!

Of course we talk to him. We should talk to anybody who would have the credentials to coach here. There's no certainty with any of the candidates we've put on our list prior to now so we do whatever we can to interview potential candidates, especially those who've been successful

He appears to be the front-runner for the Houston gig.

Double OH. Interesting that you feel so negative on Billy. Last I heard was he was very open to UL and wanted to head back this way. Now if SEC or Big East schools come calling then we have issues but other than that he is interested in us.

No offense but I know Pixly and he is a good high school coach and camp drills person. But as far as the next level I do not think he has it. I know of a few kids who played for him in summers who he actually hurt instead of helping just by his manner of play and how he coaches. He is real good at getting mediocore kids to play his style of basketball and win. They don't win when faced with talented coached players even at the AAU/high school level. We need someone who has coached college and won.Like I said no offense but if he wants to get into college he needs to try JUCO just like I have said about Mr. Boyd also.
