Houston Bates to UL?

I did not realize he did not sign with LSU in February. According to this, he is coming for a visit this weekend, this would be friggin' huge........

Only questions:

* He is going to take a visit to SMU as well, hopefully we can out recruit June Jones, his girlfriend and brother go to UL as well as the fact that he if from Covington. That gives us an advantage.

* Do we have a scholarship available for him, I surely hope so.

I would say UL has the advantage. However I believe his relatives view UL's football prestige somewhere between Judice Middle and Lafayette High.

So on that front SMU would get the edge.

While I'd love to get him (Especially with Justin Anderson going down with an apparent serious injury today), I'd also love to find out what his intentions truly are. He could have visited and possibly committed to us last month if his father hadn't been so freakin stubborn. He knew his son was likely going to get grayshirted at LSU and he still demanded him go there because he would never have his kid play ball here although his other kid can come to school here. As far as I'm concerned, I'd want to make sure they are serious about this and his father should have to wear Vermilion and white, head to toe every day for the rest of the year.

Not to mention, as far as we know, Bates is apart of LSU's program isn't he? He didn't sign but when you grayshirt, you sign the year you become eligible so he wouldn't sign or count against this year's recruiting class anyhow if I'm not mistaken. I'm assuming he hasn't practiced at all at LSU
