_ 300k for a coach at UL is great, as long as he can win, You said Jessie Evans made more than Bustle, he should have, he put UL in the NCAA tourney, and left Robert a full cover, a NCAA tourney team, and no one seems to respect that, and that was the last time we danced. Then we say Robert did this and that but Jessie didnt do this, and that, but remember Robert was on his staff for 6 years, what the hell did he do or learn from Jessie. Nothing, he didnt win, he didnt prepare his teams to win, come on....Jessie has my vote, and we need someone just like him to come back and coach us to NCAA tourneys, and win the Sun Belt. If he is or was availabe I would consider hiring him again, just to get it done, and maybe hire him as a consultant or something. Bring back Jessie.... _

I was a fan of Jessie as well. He won! He has been getting an unnecessary bad rap since he left.

However he left and he is gone, but worse than that, he quit his last job too, he walked out on the team he quit mid season.

He is now unqualified to coach a UL basketball team.

Jessie gets a lot of the blame for what Robert Lee created. The APR mess! APR was not developed or even around when Jessie coached here. What tarnishes Jessie's accomplishments was that he always seemed to have 2 or 3 players that were not eligible until the Fall Semester was complete. He also had a few guys get in trouble with the law. So he gets a blamed for a lot more than what actually happened.

_ You guys obviously must have forgotten just over 14 years ago, when Fletcher left,now Jessie might not be our main guy, but he won, Robert was terrible, and you guys are taking this much too personal, you will never have no say so in who will get hired, or even who will get an interview, thats the strange thing you guys keep missing. And one guy says I am Coach, my name stands for when I was H.S in Lafayette, in the mid 90's, and when I graduated in 99, I have fond memories of Jessie, do I wish him back yes, will it happen, maybe not, but I wont allow you jokers to bash him totally, without searching the truth. There are some great candidates who could take this job and run with it, but how long will we keep them, the moment they start winning the big boys come and take them, and you know how we feel about that. So I say Jessie Evans, for reason bad or good, wether you like him or me or not, he will be here until he retires, were is he gonna go?...LOL... But lets go with your guys... Tim Floyd, Billy Kennedy, or even maybe a top assisant from a big University, he will be looking to move as soon as he has a great year or NCAA tourney run. Go with a H.S coach in the area. But stop calling people names on here, lets not show our ignorance, ok...Have a good nite. _

Better to be known as an up and coming program that is a stepping stone for coaches rather than being known as a coach's graveyard. At this point in time if a coach can come in and elevate the program it will be progress. And even if he is only here for a short time, the important thing is that he leaves us in better shape than when he got here. UL will then be even more attractive to candidates the next time around.
