Instead of working out at UL over the summer, Terrell Richardson joined his brother, University of Alabama signee Trent Richardson, training with Crimson Tide players in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Richardson returned to Lafayette a few days before the start of fall camp carrying an extra 10 pounds. The junior defensive end, now up to 270 pounds, credits his weight gain to working out with Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran, a New Orleans native and LSU graduate.
The Story
Did he get some reps in with the DL coach? That would be sweet if they taught him some pass rush moves and he became a sack machine which is what we need. You can have 300 pound DE's but if they can't stop the run or get to the QB, it does you no good.
Terrell could work with the strength coaches but not the position coaches, per NCAA rules. If you look lower in the story, you will read that he got permission from coach Bustle to work out in Tuscaloosa, largely because his brother was there. It speaks a lot to the respect he has for Terrell and knowing that he would be responsible and improve through the process.
I did read it. Part of my post was sarcastically stated. Being as physically gifted as he is, I'd like to see a huge year from him amongst the other DL. I believe he is capable of it and certainly capable of better numbers than what we've seen from him and the other DL the last few year. I think that anybody who follows this team knows that this year's success on D is going to begin at the DL. If they play well, we are likely to have a very solid D.
His brother was a Ragin' Cajun---Would he have started for UL???? LOL Damn he put it in the EZ quickly!!!!
