All that criticism directed toward whether Andrews was worth being signed by some people on this board should have been silenced today. I still think you need to start him given all the little things he does well and the other options at the point.

Also, TJ is one of the league's most versatile players. He played and led like a true leader today. He is among the league leaders in scoring, rebounding, shooting and blocked shots and is a real threat to be an all-conference player.

Andrews had 4 assist and 3 steals today in about 20 minutes of play.

He really disruppted the Sam Houston offense.....big time.

His anticipation, vision and quick touch passing on ball rotation really accelerated our offense.

I think he should start at point

Javan Mitchell is also contributing some the last few games. Looks like both of our signees are earning their scholarships. Josh, do you think the Cajuns will be able to build on this game or is it more likely a flash in the pan due to shots falling. I know there is no way to predict that but make a guess.

Tyren Johnson has came along from year to year. This kid has gotten better every year. He should keep playing like he is playing. The rest of the team should feed off how he just goes out and plays hard. The team should just play ball. Tyren has emerged as a leader of the team after this game. It took a couple games but he has established by results and probably words, after a performance like the one today, his words mean a lot more when he talks. This could be the spark they might need to get something going. The conference scheldue is what the team should really get ready for. Win those conference games at home, and steal a few on the road, get a good seed and make and run in the conference tournament. _

UL Basketball Re: UL-95 Sam Houston-85

I have seen the Andrews kid play in high school as a matter of fact three years in a row right here in the Cajun Dome in state championship games and in the Sunkist Tourney. I was impressed when we signed him. I have been waiting to see him play in a Cajun uniform. He does all the little things right. Guess Lee finally decided to give the kid a chance to play. Wow lets guess what happened UL won. Assists, steals and hard defense are what wins games. I did not make the game due to the weather but I hope Lee gives us a chance to see him play in the Dome.

Dude he is in the 6th game as a true freshman, and he has played in games before this one.

Mike, I'm not sure where the team goes from here. Depends on if the guys are motivated to play. They definitely have more confidence.

TJ told me the other day after the LSU loss to not give up on them and that they would turn it around. I told him he would have to lead the way, and he said he would do his best.

Andrews hadn't played that much all season. He didn't even play against LSU. I saw enough of him as a prep senior to know he could contribute in a positive way if given a chance this season. He's not flashy but is solid in so many ways and doesn't need the ball to make an impact - a big difference compared to some of his teammates. He helps his cause as he and McCoy are the team's lone true point guards.

Message received. I just remember the SLC as not being very good with basketball but if they put 92 on Kentucky this is a good team. Perhaps General Lee can get this team going?

That has been a concern of mine too.

I'll tell you who I really think was a better coach when he had no choices on the bench and that was John Brady.
